South Warwickshire Local Plan

The South Warwickshire Local Plan

Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils are working together to produce a new South Warwickshire Local Plan to cover our combined geographic area.

On Tuesday 21st July we launched our South Warwickshire Local Plan Regulation 19 consultation. Thank you to all those who have made comments. We can confirm that the consultation ended on Tuesday 8th September at 23:59. Representations submitted to the Councils will now be analysed and collated ahead of independent examination and will be published on our website in due course.

Information relating to the Regulation 19 Consultation can be viewed on the dedicated Regulation 19 web page and will be updated as we progress.

Working Together

The Plan is expected to replace the strategic policies of the existing Stratford-on-Avon Core Strategy and Warwick Local Plan which are soon due for review. The South Warwickshire Local Plan will set out a long-term spatial strategy for housing, jobs, infrastructure and climate change for both Districts.

Both Councils are continuing to work on their other plans and policy documents.

Whilst 'South Warwickshire' is a new concept we believe there is a lot of merit in creating a plan that covers both Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick Districts. Aside from the common history of being within Warwickshire, Stratford-on-Avon District and Warwick District have similar economies, demographics and face common challenges.
